Our working principles
Justice without force is powerless; force without justice is tyrannical.
— Blaise Pascal
Under Article 1 of the Attorneys Act (Law No. 1136), the practice of law is a public service and a liberal profession. When admitted to the bar, every attorney swears on their honour and conscience, before the bar’s board of directors, to act in accordance with the law, ethics and the honour and rules of the profession (Article 9). Delil Hukuk Bürosu regards this oath not as a ceremonial formula but as a promise renewed in every file.
The office’s priority is to handle the matters entrusted to it in line with legal procedure and principles, with a care that allows every step to be accounted for. In practice, this means explaining to the client, at each stage of the file, what has been done and why.
Matters the office handles
The list below shows, for information purposes, the types of matters the office currently handles; it should be read together with the legal notice at the end of this section.
The office concentrates its work on the types of matters listed below and, as a rule, does not take on matters in other areas of law. This is not a limitation but a choice of responsibility: a matter can only be handled properly within the legislation and case law one works with regularly. If the matter you wish to discuss falls outside this list, knowing this before booking an appointment spares you an unnecessary consultation fee.
Real estate law
Actions for cancellation and re-registration of title, pre-emption, expropriation, prevention of interference and compensation for unlawful occupation (ecrimisil); disputes arising from tenancies and eviction actions; actions for the dissolution of co-ownership (izale-i şuyu); disputes arising from flat-for-land construction agreements.
Inheritance law
Obtaining and annulling certificates of inheritance, succession procedures, determination of the estate, cancellation and re-registration of title based on the deceased’s simulated transactions (muris muvazaası), determination of unworthiness to inherit, and reduction (tenkis) actions concerning reserved shares.
Family law
Divorce actions and their ancillary consequences such as compensation, liquidation of the matrimonial property regime, custody and maintenance claims, denial of paternity, acknowledgement and paternity actions.
Criminal law
Investigations conducted by chief public prosecutor’s offices; prosecutions before high criminal courts and criminal courts of first instance.
Related proceedings
Claims for pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages connected with these files, such as traffic accidents, loss of support and vehicle depreciation; enforcement and bankruptcy proceedings such as enforcement, objections to enforcement and actions for the annulment of an objection.
Legal notice required by regulation
In Türkiye, attorneys are not specialised or restricted to particular areas of practice; every attorney may carry out any legal work or transaction for which they are duly authorised. The types of matters above are only those the office currently and actually handles; they are stated for information before an appointment because legal advice is a paid service under the Attorneys Act.
Meetings and fees
Legal advice is a paid service. Meetings are by appointment, at the office, by phone, or online via tools such as WhatsApp, Google Meet or Zoom Meetings. Reviewing the types of matters above before booking helps you see whether the subject you wish to discuss is among the matters the office handles.
Under Article 164 of the Attorneys Act, the fee for legal representation may not be agreed below the Minimum Attorney Fee Tariff.
Articles on this site
Alongside litigation and advisory work, the office regards easier access to legal information as a responsibility. To this end, articles on substantive and procedural law are published on this site, aiming to help colleagues, law students and citizens find reliable information in the light of current legislation and case law. The articles are for general information only and do not constitute legal advice on any specific dispute.
